Kitchen Cabinet Hardware

Now you've selected you perfect kitchen cabinets, countertops, sink and new appliances for your kitchen remodel. Everything looks great but is there something missing? It must be the cabinet and drawer pulls, knobs or handles. Some people like the look and feel of cabinet pulls or knobs, and others prefer the clean smooth look without the extra hardware. I personally like to have pull handles on my cabinet doors and drawers. It's easier to grab a handle or knob to open the doors and drawers rather than trying to get your fingers around the edge of the drawer to open them. If you selected a European style cabinet, you will most certainly need handles or pulls. The reason being that the doors and drawers butt right up next to each other, and there's no room to get your fingers in there to open anything. Let's take a look at some different pulls, knobs and other cabinet hardware like child safety latches. The links provided should help you decide too.

European Style Stainless Pull– Handle

We may as will start out taking a look at my favorite style of pull or handle. This handle looks great on a more modern kitchen cabinet door style. European type cabinets with no face frames are the perfect match for this one. Imagine that. The sleek, smooth, Art-Deco look and feel of this handle will complete any modern kitchen remodel. Being made out of stainless they require little upkeep and will look great for a lifetime. They are available in 6”, 10”, 13”, 16”, 19-1/2”, 22”, 24-1/2”, 28.4” and 33.4”. I really like the longer ones on all the door sizes as well as the drawers.

Oil Rubbed Bronze Knob

This is similar to what you would see in a castle from the middle ages, but would look great in your brand new kitchen too. These 1-3/16 ” knobs would be a great look for a lighter colored cabinet or possibly a Thermo Foil or painted cabinet finish. This smooth tasteful design might be a great addition to your cabinet look. These have a more traditional look for your home.

Backplates For Your Knobs and Pulls

Backplates for your knobs and pulls can be a creative way to add even more accents and charm to your kitchen or bath. Backplates come in a huge number of styles and finishes to fit anyone's taste. From oil rubbed to satin nickel, from bronze antiqued to smooth chrome, your sure to find a backplate you like. They come in almost any style imagineable. Check them all out.

Pewter Brushed Satin Turtle Knob by Liberty

Do you want something different for your coastal home or children's room? Take a look at this whimsical knob by Betsy Fields in the Coastal Collection. Pewter has been used throughout history for hardware and decorative item. These are nice knobs you and children will love to have in your home. See the rest of her creations including fish, starfish, shells and seahorses at your favorite cabinet hardware site or possibly your local cabinet store.

Twisted Pewter Birdcage Knob

Here is another style knob that is sure to be a conversation starter in your kitchen. This twisted pewter knob by Liberty is the perfect size and shape to grab. Made of durable steel and pewter with elements of both knobs and handles. This is a great choice if you want the look and feel of both types of hardware. Be sure to look at all he differnt sized and styles available.

Cabinet Locks With Magnetic Keys

Keeping your children out of the cabinets that you store dangerous chemicals and cleaners in is a number one priority when designing a kitchen, bathroom or laundry room. Take a look at this cool new latch made by Rev-A-Shelf. The latch will only release if you have the magnetic key placed on the outside of the cabinet door. Store the key out of the kid's reach and everything stays safe and secure. Protect all the children with this simple protective lock.
